Project Update: June 4th, 2024

As you know, Phase I of the Worton Park Culvert Replacement Project has been completed, including the additional work to further widen the channel between the newly-installed Worton Park and North Woodlane culverts. Final restoration is currently being completed.

Sewer District personnel continue to work with the Village on planning for Phase II of this project, which includes replacement of three additional undersized
culverts on Norman Lane, Woodlane Drive and South Woodlane Drive.

This second phase of the project includes purchasing two residential properties, both on Woodlane Drive. The homes will be razed and replaced with expanded flood plain to alleviate flooding. The purchase of these properties will also allow reconfiguration of the stream to allow it to flow more naturally, causing less erosion during large storm events. Efforts to purchase these needed properties are moving forward, but have delayed the start of this phase of the project.

At this time, we anticipate that the project will be advertised for bids in late 2024 with construction to begin in the spring of 2025.  We will continue to keep you updated as the designs are completed and the project is closer to being advertised. Thank you.
