Photo Enforcement

Main Menu

The Mayfield Village Police Department operates a Photo Enforcement Program using an Officer operated handheld unit pursuing to Codified Ordnance 317.

Mayfield Village utilizes the Dragon Cam for photo enforcement of civil speeding violations. This is a standard LIDAR unit with an affixed camera which snaps a photo of speeding motorists.  This unit can be operated in any speed limit zone by a peace officer.

Dragon Cam enforcement is a manually operated camera which does not fall under the guise of “automated” and therefore does not require specialized speed limit signs.

There are no fixed or automated cameras installed in Mayfield Village.

Mayfield Village is compliant with all Ohio law pertaining to photo traffic enforcement.
