Brenda T. Bodnar - Mayor

Our community enjoys both an engaged, committed electorate and a sound, responsible business base. Collaboration among our private and corporate citizens has led to many positive changes which have enhanced our Village and given us first-class amenities, while all the while allowing us to retain our essential character of quiet confidence. All of this came about through proactive planning, hard work and dedicated leadership. I look forward to continuing to work with Council, our Department Heads and staff, as well as the many wonderful individuals who are proud to call our Village home, to lead Mayfield Village into the future. Soon, we will engage in developing new long and short term plans for the Village, charting the course for our future success.

Soon, we will engage in developing new long and short term plans for the Village, charting the course for our future success. All of us share a love of and respect for Mayfield Village, and with that in common we can accomplish many good things together.

I have seen strong attendance at Council and committee meetings, and I believe that an informed electorate makes us a stronger and better community. I encourage you to participate in Village activities, visit us at one of our many monthly meetings, share your ideas via email and at meetings, and explore opportunities to serve on our committees or otherwise volunteer your efforts for the good of the community. The door is always open in Mayfield Village, and it will remain that way.

Charter & Codified Ordinances

A Municipal Charter is the constitution of a municipal corporation, defining its powers and structures.  Any amendments thereto must be submitted to the electors of the Municipality.  Every five years, a Charter Review Commission is appointed to review and recommend amendments.  The Mayfield Village Charter was originally adopted in 1974; its most recent amendments were made in November of 2020.

Ordinances are local laws, passed by the Mayfield Village Council, that apply to persons and things subject to the local jurisdiction.  In order to be enacted, ordinances require the affirmative vote of Council and must be signed by the Mayor.  From time to time, the ordinances that are of a general and permanent nature of the city are codified. That is, they are revised, arranged, and consolidated into component codes, titles, chapters, and sections and published in an organized manner.

The Mayfield Village Charter and Codified Ordinances are reproduced in their entirety at American Legal, to go to the Codified Ordinances click here.
