The Senior Services Department offers several ongoing activities which seniors are welcome to attend. Non-resident seniors are also welcome to participate. Most activities are held at the Mayfield Village Community Room, 6621 Wilson Mills Road. On holidays offices are closed; no activities are scheduled. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.at the Mayfield Village Community Room. Drop in at 1:00 p.m. any Tuesday or Thursday to play cards. Come solo or bring a friend. We currently play bridge, pinochle, and hand & foot while making new friends and enjoying refreshments. There is an admission fee of $1.00.
Mondays from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Mayfield Village Community Room. Please arrive at 1:00 p.m. to team up with old or new friends. If you have a set, bring it with you. Light refreshments are served. This is a free activity; non-residents are welcome.
Bereavement Support Group
Elizabeth of Crossroads Hospice helps persons work through the grief process connected with losses through death, job loss, divorce, moves, and other life-changing challenges. Sessions are ten weeks. Sessions are held from 5:45-6:45 p.m. on Mondays at the Mayfield Village Community Room. There is no charge. Participants must make a commitment to attend sessions and complete assignments. Dr. Kelly R. Whaley, Diabetic and Geriatric Specialist practicing for 15 years in Northeast Ohio, offers routine foot care such as toenail cutting, treatment of corns and calluses, and removing ingrown toenails. The cost is $20. (Medicare generally covers the cost for diabetics.) Foot clinics are held twice per month at the Mayfield Village Community Room. Lunch n’ Movie
at Mayfield Village Civic Center
In collaboration with the Community Partnership on Aging, Mayfield Village is hosting Lunch n’ Movies at the Civic Center one Wednesday a month. The meal will be prepared and served in Civic Hall. The recently-released feature film will be shown in Reserve Hall. Lunch is served at 12:15; doors open at 11:45 a.m. Movie begins at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00 per person, payable at the door. Registration is required by calling the Community Partnership on Aging at 216-650-4029, no later than the Wednesday prior to each luncheon date.
