Presentation by Cleveland Restoration Society re: Heritage Home Program

The Meeting began at approximately 7:05 PM with a presentation from Tom Jorgenson, chief operating officer of the Cleveland Restoration Society.  Mr. Jorgenson spoke on the Heritage Home program, which offers low interest rate loans and other renovation guidance and advice for owners of homes over 50 years old in participating communities.  The annual cost for Mayfield Village to participate in the program would be $700.00. The Committee was overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the program and unanimously recommended it to Mr. Marrie, who agreed to take it to Council. Village residents Mary Murphy and George and Loretta Williams were present for the presentation. A copy of Mr. Jorgenson’s power point presentation was distributed and  is available on the Village website.

Approval of Minutes

The Committee approved the Minutes from the Jan. 28, 2013 meeting, as written.

Council Update

Mr. Marrie then proceeded with giving an update on Council matters, including the new bans on texting and talking on the phone while driving (no texting for anyone; persons over 18 only can talk on phones); continuing discussion regarding the expansion at Governor’s Village; paving in Kenwood area to start in Spring; update on Premier Investments purchase and updating of a building on Beta Drive; pool painting; repairs for the Town Hall tower; new state-of-the-art cameras purchased by the fire department; healthy status of the General Fund; and potential early opening of the new Library in late April.

Ms. Bodnar reminded members that our next meeting is MARCH 25, and asked Steve Jerome to provide an update from the Grove Committee at that time.  The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:20 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Brenda Bodnar, Chair
